Invicta Portable

This is the Invicta typewriter. In Latin it means invincible.
It’s beige colour, a not common colour. It’s from 40’s years.

The producer is Invicta, from Turin (Italy), but there isn’t any model name. So this typewriter was known as Invicta portable.

Invicta was founded by the Italian Giuseppe Giachero, who gained experience in USA about construction of typewriters. With this experience he started to build his typewriters, in Turin, Italy, around 1920. So Invicta produced typewriters between the 20’s and 30’s years of the last century, and had some success thanks to the cheaper price they had.

Then in 1938, Olivetti acquired the Invicta, and till late 40’s they produced this portable machine. The mechanic of this Invicta typewriter actually is the same of Olivetti MP1.

In 1950 Invicta is absorbed into Olivetti, and so Invicta stopped all the productions.
